I was 13 when I got my first thong I think it's perfectly fine

Being a mom of a 13 year-old I would say no. You are still a young kid. Why would you need to wear something like that. Your clothing shouldn't be so tight that you need to wear them to hide your panty lines. I can understand if you're 16 (I think - not quite there yet).
However - since you obviously are wearing them - just tell your mom straight up. It would be a lot easier that her finding them in the laundry and you stumbling over the truth.
Don't be afraid to be a kid. It only lasts for a few more years!

I don't think that you are too young to decide what type of underwear to wear.
Just sit your mom down and tell her you feel like you are old enough to make a few decisons on your own. And suggest that she let you start making some by letting you decide what type of underwear you are going to wear.
You mother may feel like this is inappropriate for you because she is scared you are doing it because you want to or are sexually active. You may need to reassure her that that is not the case (if it isn't) and let her know you would just prefer to wear a thong instead of something else.
She is being your mom and wants to protect you and do what is best for you. You have to convince her that wearing a thong isn't going to make you a bad person or whatever she may think it will do to you.

Maybe I'm just weird, but I don't see anything wrong with it! I'm a 29 year old mom of a 4.5 year old daughter(and 1 year old son). If my daughter wanted to wear a thong UNDER HER PANTS, when she is OLDER, I don't think I would have a problem with it-as long as she was covered and not trying to look like a little fast tramp. In warm weather, a cotton thong is really comfortable, and helps minimize sweating under one's pants. I still think under a skirt, until you are A)18 years old or B)out of your mama's house-you should be wearing briefs AND biker shorts.(I would put the fear of God in my dd if I caught her with nothing but a thong up under a skirt!!!)
Talk to your Mom about it. If she says no, OBEY HER. She knows you better than we do.

I do not see how it is necessary to at such a young age to wear a thong. Wait until you become a bit more older and mature to start informing the world of your sexual appearance. For now you should take things slow. Talk to your mother or an adult you trust about things similar to these that have been going through your mind. Don't worry about going into these too quickly. If you find it necessary to wear it, talk to your mother about your feelings and explain to her maturely why you would like to be allowed to wear it. Do NOT complain or whine or act immaturely. Prove to her you have the maturity to discuss and handle these things appropriately. If you show her she can trust you to make the right decisions, she may let you wear it. But you have your life ahead of you so try not to rush into sexual desires to quickly.

Thongs hide panty lines.That shouldn't be an issue with you. But if it is, ask your mother if she thinks your clothing would look better if you wear a thong. That's the practical aspect. Your mother may tell you that the practical aspect aside, a thong isn't comfortable - it's like having string stuck up your butt!

I do not think it is appropriate. Do you know about the infections you can get from wearing a thong? You are still very young. I think that when you have a job and buy your own under clothes you can wear whatever you want.

yes i think it is appropiate. I was 12 when i started wearing them, and all of my friends were wearing them too. Buy a pair, try them out, and if you like them just buy more. Thats basically all i have wore since i was that young! GO FOR IT!!

13 is way to young to wear one. I don't care if you think it'll make you look better, older, whatever. Your mother definately shouldn't let you wear one.
Those kind of clothes are most definately for people who are 17+. If you can't get into an "R" rated movie;; then you shouldn't be wearing clothing like see-through panties, thongs, see-through bras, g-strings, mini skirts, halter tops, etc. etc.

I started wearing them when i was 12 and i think it can be the same way with moms. My mom was very difficult with me about letting me wear them and it took months to convince her, but i dont blame her.. i told my mom that i would pay for them and i wasnt wearing them for any sexy reasons, that i didnt like the panty lines in some of jeans. That might work for you and also make it known how responsible you are.. going to the mall and getting one without her appoval will not make the situation better.. hope i helped! :]
