I mean to disinfect, not eat. Cause wont any moisture trapped inside expand and make it explode?

Yes, boiling the rocks to disinfect them would most likely work. Putting rocks into a fire is where the explosion problems occurs. In boiling water, the heat will be more evenly distributed and would not be as hot as putting it into an actual fire.

That would be a possibility if the rock were completely non-porous. I think that putting them in water and bringing it to a boil would not get the interior of the rock hot enough to cause the rock to explode. Campfire cooking involves putting the rocks directly into the fire and then when they are really hot, raking them over the food that is to be cooked. These rocks do not explode.

You must be careful heating rocks due to water of crystallization when the rocks were formed. They could explode. However, the amount of water in most cases is very small and will cause no harm.

Yes, you can. Even though you can boil it, you can't eat it. That would just be silly.
