Is the kind that community theaters put on the same kind of music as the 1982 one or the 2003 one?

I can't believe that I found this on Y.A.! I love that movie and have recently been wondering what it would take to put it on as a musical as it was in the movie. I haven't seen the 2003 version, but I absolutely love the one with Rick Moreno. I think it would be a really interesting challenge to put on, and I'd pay to see it.

they do both, but the orginal movie is the best and funniest
