My husband is a prefomer, that is what makes him happy. He has a band and they are getting ready to do shows. We have had problems in the past where there are now some trust issues on my part. I am concerned about the "groupies" that will come out of the perfomances. He is the front man, and they are always the most "loved" by fans. We have been married for almost 4 years and have been together for about 7. I love him more than anything and I am 100% supportive of his dreams. I have talked to him about it and he has, in writing and verbally, told me that he will not do anything to hurt me. I believe him but yet it still sits in the back of my head that something is going to happen. Does anyone have any advice? Any other women whose husbands/boyfriends are in bands? How do you deal with it? SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY, PLEASE!!!

Either you trust him or you don't. Either you believe him or you don't. There's risk in life and you need to accept it. IF your husband is a musician then you need to understand something; he was born this way, It's inside him and it needs a release. If you're worried about groupies, then BE his groupie. Attend his shows and support his endeavors. Simply "allowing" him to pursue this dream isn't support, it's tolerance. There's a difference.

You know what? You shouldn't even question this. If he loves you, which I'm almost 100% certain he does, Sleeping with a groupie isn't even an option. Besides I'm sure the only thing he is thinking about is you anyways. If your going to gig with him, be there to support him, he needs you by his side anyway, this is a tough business. Don't go out of jealousy. I'm hoping that he is a loving, wonderful, supporting husband, and I'm sure he is. Don't let this get to you, it will drag you down very deep. If you are worried, which you shouldn't be there are many other questions you need to be asking yourself besides "is my husband gonna sleep with an std infected groupie?" I have faith that he won't. hopefully you will let this go, and get your trust back to the level it needs to be. I wish you the best, and pray for you happiness. take care

You knew he was in the band and the front guy before you married him. You now cannot take away his dream just because you are married. It is a different type of lifestyle and if you knew you couldn't deal with it you shouldn't have married him. I understand where you are coming from and not to enter any additional thoughts in your mind but there are women out there that are just plain tramps and don't care. Your husband said he would be faithful so you have to trust him. He probably loves music and his career and could care less about the groupies except those that are there for the sole purpose of promoting the band.

Good luck!

I dated several men in bands and with one exception they took advantage of every opportunity to have sex with groupies. The only way I found to be sure was to go to every gig. I don't envy you, I hope your husband is different but he will have more opportunity than most.

You may not have to worry about groupies. If you keep dwelling on this you may drive him away. Go to his gigs and enjoy the show, that will keep him from even considering to go with one.
