Someone stole my email password. Is there anyway to figure out who did it?
They did not change any account info- except the password. I have changed my security question to a false answer only I know, but should I just scrap this account and make a new one?

It depends on how secure your account is and if you feel comfortable keeping an account on a system, that at least now has been compromised at least once. It seems that your account may be secure, although there may be other ways into your account that you have not considered. If you are confident that a password and security change will do the job (and in many cases it will) then go ahead and continue to use your account.

I recommend that you make sure your security question:
1)Hard to guess in terms of trivia (like you already did)
2)Make sure it is not likely to be guessed randomly, such as "cave", instead try something not in the dictionary or very obscure like Charybdis (from Greek Mythology).

Furthermore, make your password difficult to guess:
1)Although a password like: "cerulean" might work if this color of blue has nothing obvious to do with you but it may be better to have a password like:
2) gFH6.412#w@! these passwords may prove more difficult to remember but are significantly stronger. These may be easier to remember with a mnemonic device.

No point in scrapping the account... that's just hassle in telling everyone you've changed email address.

If you set yoru password to something secure (like, upper case, lower case and numbers mixed together not into a word) then the only way someone is likely to steal your password is because they see you type it, they find it written down or they have some sort of spy on the computer you use.

Probably the best thing you can do once you have a secure password is to make sure any computer you use has agood antivirus and firewall on it.

Just scrap the account and get a new one. If there was anything important on the old account, then hopefully you have a backup of it. You can't do anything about it now. Maybe the person will eventually change the password back and you can get into it again. But if not, then just make a new one and move on with your life.

Create a new account and this time make sure your password is not so easy to guess.Use all the available spaces with letters/numbers. Mix it up so no one could ever guess it.

you may no longer have the means to circulate surfing ever back till you get the password out of him. in case you would be unable to, i might seem into getting the account closed. and eliminate the biggest logger and him from her existence.

There is no way to figure out who did it. but I would make sure you had no identification information going to that email.
