Can anyone give me reasons as to why most tabloids are liars and twist the truth?

Greed... However, sometimes the tabloid do get the truth right about things mass media would not dare touch. The mass media is more nefarious, however, because they lies are considered to be more reliable.
Every major historic event I've ever researched has been misrepresented significantly by the press... even well documented stories are not covered or not covered accurately.
