I'm in high school and I was wondering: Do you keep most of the friends you knew in high school once you leave for college and start your life?

To be honest, I only have 2 of my closess friends that I still hang out with and talk with. We see each other every week. I have been out of highschool for 5 years now and we still g out together. Even though we all have kids now. We even have play dates for our kids together. But anyone else I went to school with not really. But I do keep in touch with a girl I went to college with we leave far apart. But we always email and send pictures and stay in touch that way!!

I'm still friends with the three people I hung out with most in high school. The people who I spent time with outside of school.
I just haven't really kept in touch with the "school friends." The ones I talked to at school, but never made a point of hanging out with during my free time.
Now my ten-year reunion is coming up this September.

yeah most people why not after all they were the friends you saw,spoke to,hung out with for the past 4 years why wouldn't they keep the high school friends close after high school is over and done with?

I left school nearly 12 yrs ago but I still keep in touch with 2 of my school friends. It's great to see the very different paths our lives follow.

prolly not. especially if you're going to college out of state. I kept in touch with HS people for a few months when I left town but then people get busy and they don't email u anymore. but now that I live near where I grew up again I'm back in touch with all my buddies from HS again. so if they're good friends during HS, you can always come back to them later if you lose touch I think.

None. No one in my family has one old friend except for my brother. You really change as you age, kids and your new family become more important.
Now if you loved hs and so did your bf, and have mostly good memories of that time, you are more likely to stay in contact.
Me, I'm glad I don't have anything to do with that time of my life.

I didn't but i really wish i had. if you keep in touch and meet up every now and then theres no reason why you can't stay friends. if u r wanting to avoid them on the other hand, leaving school is the perfect opputunity!

yes your life would change and you will make new friends and still stay in touch with your friends in high school
