Depends how deep they are! I used to be bigger and then lost a lot weight and they were pretty much gone after a couple months - then I got pregnant and got bigger deeper more noticeable marks on top of the old ones! I always heard about using cocoa butter and after finally giving it a try I find my marks are going away pretty quickly. Course - I use the stuff like three times a day lol...
Another helper is toning the muscle under the skin where you have the marks. Even if you lose weight where ever you got the marks to begin with your skin takes a little more time to catch up - especially if you just lost fat without toning some muscle! Work on toning and the skin will naturally get tighter in that area - contract the annoying marks!
Good luck lady - get some real quality cocoa butter too. The crappy stuff isnt as concentrated and doesnt work as well! Look for stretch mark relief in the labels and dont by shy with the product! :)

They do fade. I got really bad stretch marks during my first pregnancy, they were wide and very dark, lots of them too.. Well, they haven't gone away, but they've faded. I'd say over a couple, maybe even three years. It would probably have happened quicker if I had used cocoa butter or something, I was lazy and didn't do anything like that. Try the products for stretch marks, don't expect too much too soon and don't worry: they will eventually fade!

They definitely do. The time varies widely as well, but what you do in the mean time is use cocoa butter lotion or some type of cream that will get them out. If you continue to use the product, it should over time.
Stretch marks should fade by themselves though as you body change.
Goos luck

If they're pink or red, i believe that means they could be still stretching. Like when i lose weight, by stretch marks from pregnancy turn my skin color. Also, a tan will blend them in and if they're really bothering you. You can have them lazered.

It totally depends on your skin, genetics ... I have seen that light colored skin, like mine left me with HUGE stretch marks. Then there were alot of blonde's that didn't get any. It would matter if I slept in coco butter, my skin didn't have the elasticity ... mine will never go away. I call them my badge of motherhood. Marie

I had this problem not to long ago and went to a dermatologist. She simply told me to keep the area mosturized with cetaphil, and to use a scar cream called Mederma. It wont go away over night, so make sure to use it consistently then you will start seeing some change.
