Time has not been nice to the corkscrew. While the first drop still has a bit of aittime to it, sadly the rest of the ride is kind of rough. It is kind of neat as the actual corkscrew part of the ride goes over the midway. It's kind of neat to walk along to midway and see the cars spiral through it above you. It's short and a little rough but there is usually a very small line to get on it. If you have to wait more than 15 minutes or so, I would say skip it. However, if the line is short or non-existent, it's worth a shot just to experience it.

From the Cedar Point website:

Built during America's Bicentennial year of 1976, the Corkscrew roller coaster at Cedar Point proudly displays its patriotic red, white and blue colors as it takes its guests upside down not once, not twice, but three times in approximately two minutes! Onlookers stand in awe as the Corkscrew gracefully turns its passengers upside down directly over the midway. When it opened, Corkscrew was the first roller coaster ever to span a midway and was the first triple-looping scream machine in the world.

The Corkscrew gave 994,029 looping rides in 2005 and more than 53 million since it opened 30 years ago. Guests must be at least 48 inches tall to ride.

The Corkscrew is not a major ride at all in Cedar Point, It has a small hill, a normal inversion, then turns and takes you through a couple if rough corkskrew flips. It's short, but so is the line. Normally there is no line so if you want to ride it, you might as well try it. Oh and just to let you know, you will be attending the number one park on the planet, have a great time at Cedar Point "America's Roller Coast"

I've never ridden it but I've ridden many rides like it by it's manufacturer Arrow Dynamics. It will probably be overall smooth but a little jerky, especially in the two corkscrews (if you ride, right before the corkscrews pin your head to the side of the restraint, that should somewhat eliminate any head bumping, its always worked for me). It's not a thrilling coaster, just by looking at it, compared to Raptor, Top Thrill Dragster, or Millennium Force.

Speed: 48 mph
Height: 85 ft
Length: 2,050 ft

go to cedar points website for all the information you are looking for. i go every year(since 1972)the last couple of times i have been there i have bypassed the ride all together. if you have never ridden it you should, but i find the other coasters are better. they have new one this year called maverick that is launched up a 100 ft hill to a 95degree drop, halfway through the ride you enter a dark tunnel and are launched again!!! you can see a simulator on the website. all the coasters are great, i also think disaster transport is lame too, i usually skip that one too. you need to spend at least 2 days at the park because cedar point is notorious for it very long lines, in the summer months expect to spend at least 2-3 hours waiting for the best coasters.

Well it is not a particularly fast ride and it is also pretty short. Check the details on the ride at http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/park/rides/coasters/corkscrew/index.cfm
If you want to ride a good roller coaster, then try Top Thrill Dragster. It is the fastest and scariest ride in the park.

Fast, twisty and short. Don't waste your time on it. Go ride Magnum rather than corkscrew. Millenium Force has very long lines.

ride it. the first drop is a good 60 ft. down. goes by quick because it is a short ride. but when you hit the 2nd screw you get sprayed with mist. it feels good.

i think it is very smooth and a must ride for cedar Point.
