I was in a similar situation when a truck charged at a child who was crossing an alleyway. I ran out, pushed the child out of the way -- fortunately the truck stopped and didn't hit me, because I didn't have time to get clear of his path. I didn't think about what to do; I just reacted.

I guess it would depend on how close the train was. If it was far enough away that there was a chance I could get us both out safely, then I'd help with no hesitation, but if it was obviously too late, then thered be no sense in two people dying when only one death was inevitable. See what I mean?
But on the other hand, instincts are kinda unpredictable. So I couldnt be sure of the answer until I had had the experience.

I would rescue the child. I believe it is what God would want. If I were there in that situation God would have placed me there. It is hard to say exactly how I would do it but probably grab the child and toss them away from the track then try and get away if possible. It would really boil down to how much time I had.

Depends on how much time there was but I'd try to save the child. Probably untieing his shoe and slipping his foot out (if possible) would be a good try. But to properly loosen his shoe would take a good 10 seconds, which means that the train would have to be pretty far away.
Rough situation.

I think my instinct would be to try as hard as possible to save the child, I could not live with myself knowing I had done nothing to help.

I would try to save the child, unless the train was close enough to where I knew that I absolutely would not be able to do it in time. Sorry, but that train isn't getting a two-for-one special.

In some respect, I have had a full life, while the small child has not had a fair chance to live his life yet. So I think that it would be a fair trade to risk my life to save the life of someone who had not had a chance to grow up yet.

Why should someone die trying to save a child that is stupid enough to get stuck on the train track. Besides with the overpopulation of the world it is time to weed out the less intelligent/less fit. Times of survival of the fittest are coming soon and there is no time to save the stupid or weak.

I would run as fast as I could to grab the child and if I got hit and lived I would be a hero and end up on FOX NEWS.
