I don't know but I wish his last trick would be to make himself disappear.

The last thing he did (publicly) was dangle above Time Square on Thanksgiving Day to promote Target's two day sale. That was just 4 months ago. I wouldn't say he is retired - yet.

Gosh, I hope so, it might stop him doing stupid things in the hope that the general public go "Wow, he's like so mystical and stuff".
