The Cowplant is a career reward (an item that you get if you are high enough in a certain career) that comes with the Natural Science career path. It comes in University, so you won't have it. It is a plant that you feed with meat, which will then eat it and produce a cake out of its mouth soon after. A passing greedy sim (that is not yours) will hopefully come and eat this cake and then be swallowed by the cowplant and killed...the plant will then produce a drink that your sims can consume which will extend their life by 5 days. Only use this item if you are sure that you don't mind killing other sims (even ones that you may control on another lot). If you don't have University, an alternative is the green water fountain that is worth about 30000 aspiration points but only extends the life by 3 days. And must also have gold or platinum aspiration or they will lose days of their lives.

The Cowplant is a career reward for the Science career track. It will make your sims live a few days longer than usual. Not very useful, but it looks cool. I'm pretty sure the plant comes with The Sims 2 base game, so you don't need any EPs to obtain and use it.

The only way to optain this is from a University extension pack. It is mainly used to make your sim live a few days longer (maybe 3-4 days, not 7). Make sure you don't use the stuff when your sim is about to age because that wim will age automatically.

It is a career reward that will eat other sims, and can produce milk, giving other sims a longer life span. It came with the original game, and it isn't just a Seasons thing. I believe you can find it in the Science career, but you'd have to check.
