As in, "I am so sorry, it's ALL MY FAULT... everything's my fault!" even if he probably hasn't changed...

I am asking this because, being naive in the past I thought that the abuser always OUTWARDLY blamed his/her victim as in "I did this because of you" blah blah blah... but now I am realizing that such a person might even do it by apologizing a ton, blaming everything on (himself) and then claiming he has changed?

No !! It's so you will let your guard down so they can abuse you some more. Don't fall for that crap. They're nothing but losers.

abusive men are master manipulators. by placing the blame on themselves, they appear to take responsibility for there actions. if society and their victims veiw him as a "man" who is willing to step up and admit he's done wrong he's a stinking hero.GAG!!! an abuser is an immature person who takes pride in the intimidation and humiliation of those he perceives to be weaker than him. lots of abusers will say they "just lost it" when questioned about the abuse. that's B.S. these same people are often upset at their bosses, buddies, store clerks, etc. and don't go around punching them,do they?

Some do, but my ex blamed his abusive behaviour on me, he said that I was the only that ticked him off. He just could not take any responsibility for his own actions. Even today he still blames me for it, he will never change.

The abuser, (AFTER the event, NEVER BEFORE),blames THEMSELVES. That's why it NEVER stops them the NEXT time. You ALREADY KNOW THE ANSWER!!!!

By saying he is to blame then you feel guilty for blaming him.
