How does each of the following characters evolve from the Godfather I to III?
Michael Corleone
Connie Corleone
Kay Adams Corleone
Consider the following:
1) How has Michael evolved from Part I to III? Pick a specific behavior.
2) Think of a sequence in the film that shows Michael as he is first seen. How is he different in the later sequence? Describe the sequence and the changes you see. What or who may have caused Michael to change, grow or evolve?
3) Do the same for Connie and Kay. Explain what each was like when we first see her. What has happened to her over the series to make her change? Describe the film sequence(s) that support your observations.
4) What do you think Francis Ford Coppola may want you know about the nature of the lives these characters have lived through the changes they go through? What is his message or the theme of the series?
P.S. Write as many as you can. An essay will be the best^_^ Thank you!

Sounds like a question for a film class. Why don't you watch the movies and come up with your own answers?

Michael stays the same throughout the saga. He is deeply attached to his family wanting the best for them but knowing what it is his family has been doing for a living .He is not a strong man physically but he has strength of will and character. There are those who say Michael becomes colder and more reserved as he gets older but that is not so. Like an idiot he calls his shots before he kills you because it is not what he wants to do but family responsibilities keep forcing him to kill tim e and time again.

Connie naive to begin with, not about her family but about what it means to be part of her family, and more importantly a female part of her family. She tries to be the good wife to an abusive husband but that is not what her family would allow so they kill her husband. She becomes an old maid at that point taking care of the family children and helping Michael with his ailing health. In the end she see a chance to help Michael retire and set things back to how they should have been giing Sonny's boy the reigns and so she help out with the final night of a thousand knives filling her canolis with arsenic.

Kay was a good hearted woman who thought Michael could do and say as he pleased but that was not true. He was a part of his family even if he was not running his family. She married him eventually but only to learn that Michael was the boss. She aborted his baby to make sure he would let her go, showing that her heart had hardened. He let her go but he kept the kids for their protection. She stayed on the fringe of the family until the time when the kids were old enough to know that they would not lead the family as Michael did and she could see then that Michael was always the same man she thought he. Circumstances just kept pulling him back in. In the end, however, their daughter is killed and tells her she was more naive than she thought and he was the way he was for a reason, family.

Do you own homework. Crap man, you get to watch The Godfather trilogy for school and you're passing it off on others? OK, #3 sucked, but 1 and 2 are among the greatest movies ever made.
