I know what albedo is but I canno anwser this question.

By increasing the albedo of Earth, global ice sheets produce conditions that are ________ to their further advance, thus providing an example of ___________ feedback.

what should be in the blank.

I would agree that the first answer is "Favorable" It would similiar to a reverse runaway greenhouse affect. This may have happened once. Lookup a theory called "Snowball Earth". For the second blank, possibly "Constructive" ? Meaning that the glacier advances with this type of solar feedback, but im not sure. the second part is a poorly worded question. i suggest you take a look in your book or ask the teacher who assigned the homework we are doing for you here.

I think the first blank would be 'favorable', because more solar energy would be reflected instead of absorbed, so they wouldn't melt as easily. I don't know about the second blank.

first blank is "favourable" and the second blank is "positive" feedback
Do you remember the difference between positive and negative feedback?
