so I saw this thing on the discovery channel where they used soundwaves to melt plastic.

how in the world does that work? I didn't know sound could do that. could soundwaves melt my ears off?

Soundwaves are the spectrum of the wave that are from around 20Hz to 20 kHz .
The wave can transmit energy to a material .
for example , if you put a licqid exposed by wave(sound waves) it will be warmer and hot.
it is work more effective when Resonance happen in the molecules.

Don't know about melting your ears off, but, I saw a device on the Discovery Channel that could stun you into submission with sound waves. I was shocked by the range of the device. I believe it could paralyze you from a distance of 300 yards.
