My high school teacher told us that every mammal is allergic to some other mammal, but I haven't been able to corrobrate this assertion on the Internet. Has anyone else ever heard this assertion?

I haven't heard of that... Are you allergic to any other mammal?? I can't think of a single mammal I'm allergic too--- I think she was misinformed.

While I am not 100% certain, I can say with 99% confidence that your HS teacher was probably wrong. There are SO many mammalian species out there, and to say that ALL are allergic to some OTHER MAMMAL is a bit out there.. I might agree that all mammals are allergic to SOMETHING IN NATURE ( like humans are allergic to snake venom, poison ivy plants, etc)...
To say that Mammals are ALWAYS allergic to another species of MAMMAL seems a bit too crazy.
As a rule, always question when a biology or chemistry question or statement has the word ALWAYS in it.. there are ALMOST always exceptions to the rule!

I didn't know that every mammal is allergic to some other mammal but I know that I have a Snoodle(poodle cross) that is allergic to cats only long hair ones. Her eyes will swell and she sneezes continuously and get a hacking cough when she is near one. Took us forever to figure out the cause and it amazed me :-)

I have never heard this and find it hard to believe. I know of no other mammal I personally am alergic to, but there are many I haven't been in contact with.

I haven't heard it, and I don't know why it would have to be true.
