Anyone can be forgiving, you don't need to be christian. As christians we are called to inform non believers of the truth which is Gods word, Period. We are not to judge lest we be judged, condemned lest we be condemned ourselves. Jesus commanded us to live as he lives. Why do so many people trash christians for sharing God's word? I found that in some cases (I am not saying yours, or one you are refering to) that those who feel were unfairly judged or made to feel other than worthy of anything have had to come to grips with the truth and realize that they may have been wrong in whatever the situation was. Escuse me I am on the tale end of this discussion, point being the truth when revealed exposes each of us, no matter whether you are christian, muslim, buddhist, and so on, or an atheist, and it is a hard thing to swallow. Not many people like to outwardly acknowledge their faults, saying I was wrong and I am sorry it seems is difficult in our time of self centeredness. I am a true believing christian, I am a sinner, that I cannot escape, but I am forgiven and I have learned to accept my faults, apologize to those I have wronged, ask forgiveness from whomever I may have hurt intentionally or not, and seek God's forgiveness which is a true blessing for me. You are right in asking this question in my opinion, but as a favor to all do not critisize christians for their beliefs and do not believe everything a christian tells you. I am in no way trying to preach to you. I would love nothing more than to shate the good news of the love our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has for all of the world. But you do the research if you are compelled not everyone will be called, although if God willing you do pick up a Bible and read with an open mind and heart the only truth it may lead you to the understanding that we are all sinful and no one is worhty of the glory of God except through Jesus Christ. Again if you read a sermon or an answer quoted from the bible do not trust it to be God's word until you research it for yourself. I personally quote scripture often and encourage anyone who poses a question to examine the the passage(s) themselves for the truth, I also quote anything from Nikki Giovanni to Bugs bunny. That doesn't mean I am lauding anything over someone or making light of their situation. As christians if any of us believe we have it easier or tells you your life would be so much better if only you were a christian, then we deceive ourselves. Life is just as hard if not harder to be a christian, it takes dedication, devotion, being scoffed at for what we believe/persecuted, and so on.
I am sorry that you feel the way you do towards christians, in what you read or been subjected to by others. But not all of us who are christians shoot people down or insult them, we are supposed to encourage and love one another it is God's command. I believe for some of us we look for any open avenue to share the gospel and hope in doing so someone may come to faith. It offends a lot of individuals and that is ubfortunate but it does not make us any better than anyone else it only means that by God's grace and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ we are forgiven. I need it everyday I am and will always be a sinner but I am forgiven and I have plenty of love for you and everyone else but not as much as God does. I hope this brings some comfort to you about your feelings towards christians and God's peace.

Speaking as a Christian myself.. I do understand how you feel. All too often I see/hear someone trying to reach out for help or advice.. and then someone who "claims" to be a Christian starts running their mouth and saying some very awful things. It's definately not Christ-like.

Just remember, that those hateful "christians" are the minority, they really are. Trust me on this. Anyone who is a true Bible-believing Christian, understands that we are to be love everyone, regardless of their lifestyle or circumstances in life. Too often, some Christians forget that while we are to hate "sin" that we are to still love the "sinner". Being a Christian does not mean we are made perfect or that we won't make mistakes, and I think it's really sad that some people seem to think that just because they are a Christian, then they are somehow immune from problems or making mistakes in their own life. I hate to tell them, but that's just not the way it is.

So, speaking as a Christian myself.. I would like to apologize for whatever hurtful things you (or anyone else reading this) have been put through. It's not right, and it's certainly not what Christianity is about. Not everyone is like that, so please don't ever assume that we are all a bunch of holier than thou mouthrunners. I promise you, that's just not how it is. Sadly, it is with some.. but it's not everyone.

Take care!

I don't claim to be a perfect Christian. I do however know right from wrong and if I come off as cynical when answering some questions, it's because many of the questions I see on here want absolution for a wrong there are committing against a faithful partner that they would not stand for if the shoe were on the other foot. When a person does something that they know in their heart is just plain wrong they need to be called on it because even non Christians wouldn't condone it if they have any decency in them. The golden rule applies to Christians and Non-Christians alike, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you!"

A person who carries the label "christian" does not automatically become perfect. We all fall short, no matter our "religion". Many Christians strive to be christ-like, but it is impossible to be perfect at it. Dont judge all christians based on the short-comings of a few.

I'm sure you have gotten bad service or food at a restaurant on more than one occasion. Does that mean you stop eating out, convinced that all restaurants must certainly be disgusting?

I guess you didn't realize this is Marriage and Divorce category, not religion. However, if you would ask a question, I would be pleased to help you out, and so would many others. Christians are forgiving, but they also don't insult others and rant as you have. Sorry you are so very angry about something.... whatever it is, you are not giving a clue here...

so did I , but it all depends on who you believe in, man or God. we are all humans and we will all fall and yes we even sin, but not all the time, Christians are suppose to be forgiving, in fact it must be done, forgiveness is a way of life for those who truly follow the Word of God and who want, (noticed I said want) be like Jesus. question? are you forgiving? are you saved? if not, just ask Jesus into your life, ask Him to come into your heart and make changes, then hold on, cause He'll change you and you'll fall n love with him more and more.

Sounds like you are running into negative people. Stay as positive as you can even in troubled times. Your positivity will attrack positivity and you will meet a whole lot of nicer people. Smile at everyone, you can just smile at someone and make their whole day. Take care Heather

I agree. But this is not true of just christians, it is true of all super-naturalistic religions. Read a great best seller book, hon. "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins.. Superb logic, and only for the very bright and intelligent.

I'm not even gonna touch that. Anybody acting innocent about the real situation world wide where this sort of thing is concerned is a bare faced liar. ( Even if you shave. )

sorry you feel that way if you do, but i am so tired of everyone trashing Christians yet they don't say 2 words about muslems or anyother, Christians aren't perfect, but they are forever under the microscope, instead of focusing on who forgives--- focus on your relationship with Christ, does it exist? on judgement day God won't say 'did others forgive you''--He will say ''away from me i never knew you'' [this is scriptural] --if your sins aren't under the blood of Christ, and there's only one other place to go-if not heaven.
