I cannot believe how many really stupid answers there are above! People who have "problems" with Gays actually have a problem with themselves.. it is simply called "insecurity." Insecure people tend to make everyone else's business theirs so as to forget about their own problems of self image. These people fear in others what they dread may be in them...very silly, very short sighted, and just plain ignorant. Forget about all the bible crap, it boils down to this. Men and women who know who they are and what they are have no problem with Gays or anyone else. Those who are not so sure of who and what they are create a quagmire of lunacy to hide their own deficiencies. Sad, but true. Good luck

Ya know, I am honestly BAFFLED by this. I mean, the obvious thing to say would be "most homophobes are that way because they've been brought up that way by their family, church, etc." But if that's the case, then there are a lot of reeeeeaaaally stupid people in the world.
Plus, they have no excuse for being homophobic simply coz they were raised that way... these same people don't do everything their parents or their priests tell them to do, so why can't they think for themselves on the issue of homosexuality???
Dunno if that made any sense!

People have a problem with anything that is not the norm (what most people do). It isn't just about being gay. For instance, do you think people would really appreciate it if you showed up naked in school or at a wedding or at work? What's wrong with it? Under your clothes it is still your body that is going to school or to the wedding or to the workplace. It just isn't the norm.

Most people I know that have problems with the GLBT community are simply not educated about it. They are afraid of what they don't understand. Also, most of them have been taught from an early age that being gay is sinful and bad so they just go along with what they have been told instead of using their brain and making their own minds up.

mmm, I would highlight the difference between people who do have a problem and those who do not agree about the gay/lesbian theory, in general.
my best friend is gay, but I can not understand it! It just does not make any sense! Call me old fashioned, but how in nature do two animals (among them the humans) reproduce when they are of the same sex (and please do not tell me about these rare situations when it happens.) These days it is impossible to find a nice Mr. Nice without the general truth that he is gay.
boohoohoo...Me is a woman.

I don't personally at all. I enjoy hanging and meeting EVERYONE regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, and religion. But a few members of my family do and I call them out on it every time I hear them mention some demented comment.
It's ridiculous that they have such a closed mind.

Because gay people arent gay they are just looking for attention because they werent loved as children and now feel they need lots of attention. I cant stand it a gay parade now how gay is that, a bunch of sissy boys and hairy girls dancing around like idiots. Of course normal people will have a problem with this. Gay people need to grow up and stop being so gay.

People in general have problems with something or another. It's life. It's unfortunate, but I don't see it ever changing.
