What about the other provisions of the First Amendment, such as: free speech, freedom to practice any religion, or freedom to assemble?

This is what I want to know: Are American journalists proteced by our Constitution when NOT on American soil?

If a reporter is in Iraq or Afghanistan, for instance, does the First Amendment apply, or does military law or the home nation's law (Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, etc.) apply?

I should think that (for the most part) US laws apply on US soil. So when you are on a US base overseas, you are on US soil, in a manner of speaking, but military law prevails. When you are overseas - but not on a military base then THAT country's laws apply first and foremost. (Of course if you are on US Embassy grounds, then you are, again, on US soil).

loose Speech and loose Press isn't the massive issue. the massive issue is that information media communities are owned by technique of laarge businesses that favor to concentration on subject matters in a on-sided way. It took SNL making interesting of the moderators to get absolutely everyone to ask Obama a severe question. pay attention of the 'independent' press. There are continuously (a minimum of) 2 aspect to each and each tale. many cases, the newshounds to boot because the media communities placed their own spins on memories to serve their own objective. most of the data communities hide in the back of this modification even as attempting to shelter their memories. it truly is the unfortuate loophole if you happen to're no longer trustworthy and independent even as reporting the data. I ask that easily everyone save an open ideas even as watching the data. maximum could have have self belief that they global is coming to an end any day now and yet maximum individuals flow on with our frequent on a daily basis lives and discover time to ask and answer questions so as those. large question!
