She's swimming jerkily and her stomach looks swollen. And she doesn't seem to be eating. She also seems to stay towards the bottom of the tank. I have her in a standard fish bowl. Not quite a gallon. That's as big as my mom will let me buy. This is my first fish and I don't know what I should do. Help please!

you should double check see if the water isnt so dirty by looking above of the water if there are some thig like bubbles i willl clean it out and replace a very clean fresh water after cause i have a betta fish too but i always had to clean the tank least 5 times a week so that the fish can feel little more better and will ble breath under the water clearing and healthy. if you hadnt got youre fish a fish tank you can get a medium size one instead if it justo ne fish you own . also you should also take out the stones rocks out the tank also and pour the fish into a water bowl then pour some water into the tank and use youre hand to wash the inside of the tank so that you can take out all the germs and dirties that was under the stones from the buttom of the water. i should do it like 3 times so that it can be so clean and neat that there isnt any thing else following around the water . also if in case you want to get a aquitum fish tank instead . plus you shouldnt feed the fish every same day or even given too much food to the fish cause make the water get dirty easier and also you should always feed it least three pieces food in the morning and afternoon and dinner time . that all will make the fish be fulled. if youre fish isnt eatting very well or even moving around in the water i will just take it to the pet shop and ask them if they can check it for you see if the fish got sick .

Take her back to where you got her and have someone look at her..nothing like a physical exam by someone who knows what they are looking at/for...smile

take her in her bowl.... with about half the water in it so as not to spill..... you have her in and they can also test the ph
