How do footbal crowds know what to sing at the same time?

Because one person starts yelling it really loud, and other people nearby join in.. It's a wave effect. And most likely, people who frequent a football game know what the term is, and will yell it to their best.

Also, cheerleaders sometimes start it. It really gets the players pumped - I would know.
