And by feminine, I do not mean getting your nails, hair, etc. done and going shopping all the time. To be feminine is more of an attitude and presence. You can still dress like a "girly girl" and not be feminine. It seems like the women here are totally against being "feminine" and instead, they try to act like guys.
Please do not misunderstand me... you can still be into the same type of things guys like and still be feminine... I just think that there is a certain attitude and mannerism missing from the women here.

OK, what I mean is women acting more raunchy and slutty in public (there is nothing wrong with acting a bit "raunchy" behind closed doors with your lover), and women acting obnoxious... and sometimes even louder around men (even worse than men sometimes...)

I also agree that men are becoming less masculine. This is just all crazy. What is wrong with this country?

Blame HollyWood and Paris hilton, the olson twins, anna nicole smith, and the rap and hip hop communities.

At least you get it. Its disappointing that people have to bog this down with political correctness rather than assessing the point you're making and responding to it appropriately. Since no one else can, I will.
What you're saying is very true and is having serious consequences on our society as a whole. While I agree that everyone has the right to be who and what they are shouldn't be anything else, the fact of the matter is that there are both men and women for a reason. People love to complicate simple things. Love it. I swear, some people think that having two complimentary sexes was just how the dice fell. People don't understand that the two together create a better world for both of them. The reason girls are becoming less feminine (And this might seem kind of strange at first, but if you hear me at and think about it, you'll realize its true) is because men are becoming less masculine. The reason men are becoming less masculine is because women are becoming more masculine. Its a loop, but its a loop that was started by the feminist movement. I am all for women's equality. I think they have the right to vote, work, etc. But along with all of that came this other movement, this self righteous "You Go Girl" attitude. That's what I call it. The "You Go Girl Attitude". Because that's what it is. Before the feminist movement (Not saying this is all good, but making a point) men were in control. Because men were in control, you didn't have one out of every two marriages failing, not that that is women's fault. (This is all leading to a bigger point, in case you're wondering.) So with this sudden empowerment of women, what happened was a break down in the traditional manner of living, family-wise. So you have this backlash against men, this attempt to reduce male influence in the world. This is seen in everything in history. It is a pendulum. When its too far to one side, instead of bringing it into balance, historically, what always happens is it just goes way to the other side. Same thing here. The only thing is, the thing that people fail so spectacularly to realize, is that men and women are not these two opposite creatures that live on Earth together and 'try to make it work'. (As some of the more radical feminists will have you believe.) They are two halves of a whole team. What effects one will effect the other. You make good women by making good men. You make good men by making women. You see what I'm getting at? Its a cycle. The reason girls are so much more masculine today is because of this. My mom always told me when she was a little girl, if she did something out of line, all her father had to do was look at her. People now a days say that's a bad thing. I don't think it is at all. We are equal, yes, but not equivalent. That is another thing people don't realize. That somehow, if women can't go around without their tops on, that they're somehow unequal. No, they're just different. Anyway, girls are less feminine today because of that lack of male influence. Unfortunately, the whole process of giving women their rights (that they deserve) cut out the male influence. A lot of people say, "Well, why don't we just bring it back?" Here is where we hit a snag. That's a whole separate deal. The only thing that can bring that influence back is a man. Yet, thats difficult to do if you don't already have it. Think of it as a torch thats passed down. If a generation drops the torch, the the next doesn't know what to do and therefore can't pass it on. Or like an oral story. All you need is one generation to not learn it and then what is going to happen? It'll be difficult. It can be done, but I don't think it will. Women won't become more feminine until men become more masculine. But they need masculinity to achieve that, when what they have is too much feminine influence. Hope this answers your question.

The expected roles the genders are supposed to play are changing and with that means that men can be more sensative and women can be more stubborn and crude. I mean, we're becoming more equal by becoming a little more like the opposite sex.
I tend to be a tom boy about most things but I do like to dress up and go out every now and again. I like to be treated to things like most women. But, I can fit into a group of guys like it was nothing. I have almost the same sense of humor that men do and most of them find it great. Why do you make it sound bad that this is happening?

What you mean is that they are being crude, vulgar and "tough" thinking it's what guys do?
You are right in a way..I see girls who try to act "tough" spewing vulgarities thinking it's cool. Perhaps they think by acting tough people will feel scared of them and they are giving out a cool impression, seeing how punk rock is the trend today and this trend is all angsty.
it's not just a trait that some guys possess though, there are girls who are tough in the sense that they are rough around the edges and you can't blame them it's their character. Perhaps with the freedom of self-expression that is encouraged today more girls are more open in how they behave and their thoughts and are not afraid to be dominant.

The premise of masculine and feminine are both socially constructed. Women perhaps are not being inundated quite as much with gender roles as they were twenty years ago with baby dolls and all the house hold stuff. Now they are giving children those hideous Bratz dolls that are dressed suggestively and are clearly meant to convey sexuality.
Women who are not feminist believe that to be equal they should be able to act in a manner that was at one time only acceptable for men. This is not only incorrect by demeaning to both genders.

It's the testosterone the beef industry feeds to its cows.
Kidding. Masculinism is the new feminism. Perhaps some women feel that they can only be a true feminist if they are equal with men in every way - mannerisms and attitude included.

I think you need to give a more complete definition of "feminine." The fact is that women in the US can be whatever they want to be and not everyone abides by the same moral code.

It may seem that way.
Men are becoming less masculine - then in the past, the contrast and appearance between the two genders has change as a result.
As usual, blame has been placed on women for a male defect...

I think of myself as feminine, though I don't think I fall into the 'girly-girl' category. The problem is, you haven't really described what you regard as 'acting feminine'. Attitude and mannerism are very vague words. Please elaborate if you can.

I think it is a way to attract guys. Like saying, see I can hang out with you and your friends and fit in. And still be enough of a girl for you to be found attractive. We will get along just great.
