I have never even played a single final fantasy game, but I want to try. actually I dont even the know what the storyline is!? but I want to discover the game because I've heard about it all over. so which one should I start with? which one is the most exciting one that I will want to keep playing?

like what the other guys said....final fantasy 7 has the best and most impressive storyline..BUT
the game is pretty old compared to the tech that is out now...so the picture looks pretty crappy
Final fantasy 8 was pretty cool and the graphics arent that as bad as 7 and i you could get addicted
Final Fantasy 10 (i think) was the coolest because of the graphics and that the characters actually spoke.
i think you would have the most fun with this one rather than with the others...
i didnt get to play the FF games after FFX...so maybe the newest ones are better
just my own opinion.~~!

It's funny, I enjoyed FF7 for a while but I was tired of characters who look like hand puppets. Final Fantasy X was the first with characters that speak. They look human, even out of the cut scenes. This is an elegant, detailed game. I played it for a long time, sold it, missed it, got it back and am playing it right now. Literally. I'm going back and forth between the computer and the PS2. I'm addicted. You won't regret buying this one. I can almost guarantee it. I'll finally force myself to buy FF XII and play that, too.
Each version (FF VII, FF X, FFX-2, FF XII, etc.) has a different story line that is unrelated to the one before it. FF X-2 is the one that's is a continuation of FF X. If you decide on FF X, email me and I'll send you a story line.

7 is usually the one that people find the best, even though the look of it is a bit old it still has the best story line. After that I would say maybe 8 or 10.

ff7 has the best story line of all of the games it is for playstation. if you want to go on quality ffX is one of the best. i've put over 150 hours into the game trying to get everything so it will last and you wont get bored with it
