Bird by a LOOOOONG stretch. When I looked at their regular season career stats, many of them are closer than I expected. Mullin actually played more games than Bird (986 to 897). They shot virtually the same %'s from the field, 3pt, and FT. Where Bird shows his dominance is in scoring (24.3 to 18.2), rebounds (10.1 to 4.1), and assists (6.3 to 3.5) per game.
Then factor in playoff performance where Bird kills Mullin (Mullins ppg drops to 13.8) and the fact the Bird is one of the greatest leaders in sports history and you can see the real difference between the two.

Bird was a far better player than Mullin, and would have been regardless of what teams they went to in the draft.
Bird was a better scorer, rebounder, defender, passer and could put the ball on the floor with either hand. Mullin couldn't walk a dog with his right hand.
Mullin was a great, great shooter. Their shooting percentages are actually pretty close:
FG:
Bird .496
Mullin .509
FT:
Bird .886
Mullin .865
3 point FG:
Bird .376
Mullin .384
Mullin played 16 seasons to Bird's 13. Bird was a 12 time all star, Mullin a 5 time all star. That alone puts Bird on a whole different level.
The Warriors went from 22 wins to 30 in Mullins' first year. The Celtics went from 29 wins to 61 in Bird's first year. Again, no comparison.
One thing you have to say about both players is that they got every bit out of the basketball abilities that they had. And neither of them ever took a night off on the court. They always both gave everything they had. And they were both fun to watch. Bird of course, had a lot more exposure, but with good reason. He was the greatest forward ever to play the game.

Bird is good coz he's got a great team, like Michael Jordan! But i'll go for Chris Mullin! A great shooter. The only player who can shoot a buzzer beating turn-around 3 point shot.
If mullin may have started his career in indiana pacers, he could have been far better than Larry Bird.

This one is a no-contest. Bird is one of the greatest players of all time. Mullin was a good player. He knew the fundamentals and he also had range. Bird did not only have range, he also had a talent in getting near the basket for an easy jump shot.
Larry Bird also had countless accomplishments in an era when there were plenty of hall-of-famers. I am obligated to give Larry Bird the nod with regard to your question.

Larry Bird! but I also like Chris Mullin (the man with the golden touch). he played like Bird and Rick Barry, small forwards with great outside shooting (esp 3's & FT). Like Bird, also kinda slow but with quick hands. both are always considered not to have great defense but always two-steps ahead, mentally. Still, Larry Bird will win!....... Why not try, Chris Mullin vs Rick Barry?

mullin was ' poor man's larry bird'
both were not athletic but were great shooters. mullie had the prettiest left handed stroke ive seen. while, bird was as clutch as anyone. not jump making jump shots but timely steals (87' playoffs vs pistons).
bird was a better passer and rebounder. and look at some of the old highlights of bird...after magic who was a legit PG , bird arguably had the best vision of the court. plus his basketball IQ was extremely high.
both worked hard off the court to improve their games and it showed.
mullin was great. but injuries cut his prime years short after the 92' olympics.
and bird will always be larry legend.

look, i'd say that the 08 Reedem group is greater gifted. And that's. There are new adult men like Wade, LeBron and CP3. There are gamers of their top like Kobe and Boozer. Chris Bosh and Deron are doing a astounding interest too. besides the ninety two' Dream group became into greater united. Jordan and Pippen formed a super duo, consisting of Barkley and Ewing on the forward and middle positions. in the event that they play at the same time, i think of it may be a super interest. The expertise VS the classic. I recommend, it rather is diverse eras. In 1992 the interest became into greater protection. greater sturdy. Now, the interest is greater interesting. it rather is greater flash performs and dunks. i'd say...the ninety two' Dream group. They have been the unique dream group and we would desire to constantly admit it. enable's wish LeBron and Wade and Melo can outfitted a clean Dream group for the subsequent years. i'm beneficial the u . s . will wreck down the others interior the 2012 London Olympics. they're youthful, yet they're getting united on a daily basis, purely like the ninety two' Dream group did. So, it rather is purely wait and the time will do it. wonderful question. thank you! Eddie!
