Several shows have been cancelled after only one episode. Recently, the Heather Graham sitcom "Emily's Reasons Why Not" was one that was promoted with fanfare, then canned after the first episode proved to be unwatchable. Apparently, 7 shows were filmed; maybe it will turn up online somewhere.

The Simpson's is the longest working sitcom, lively or non beginning in 1989 and nonetheless working. and then the 2d longest sitcom, or longest non animation sitcom, is The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet which replaced into 14 years from 1952-1966

Define short; at the start of the 1950's there were several fifteen minute sitcoms and in truth most half hour sit-coms clocked in at twentytwo to twenty five minutes. Or short as in Cancelled quickly -- -- several candidates one lamentable loss was 1978's Hot L Baltimore which got the axe after five episodes but filmed thirteen.
