the nominations are always the same and the people which get nominated are just absolute ****.
i mean you dont see any music from the 80s or any of the legend of rock n roll getting nominated anymore.
you just see the same old faces
they should really change the nominations

If any of the "legend rock n roll" were making records than maybe they would. And if they are making records then maybe they're too old and their fifteen minutes of fame has run out and the only fans they have are beer bellied, mullet wearing middle aged trailer park people.

I do agree with the some of the people on awards shows are crap but most of them are manufactured ,marketable and popular. If you have a problem with the MTV music today try getting out to some Indie clubs(or move to Canada, our rock and indie scene is awesome) or check out an underground record store, some really good rock isn't popular.

I agree with you. Some of the rock n roll legends are still putting out new music, but there are not even being considered for awards -- not even getting airplay on the radio -- and some of it is excellent. And what about the other categories of music? Blues, etc. Television is geared toward the the pop artists.

You should try Vh1's Rock Hall of Fame. It's awesome. However, i do love the MTV Video Music Awards and The Grammy Awards. People should nominate Nelly Furtado more as well as Christina Aguilera and Fall Out Boy. They diserve it. I love Pop/Rock music.

I think they are directed to the teen audience so the nominees are the hot bands of the moments that top the charts

they know nothing from the 80's except for madonna
