A guy who I'm not longer friends with owes me money that he's been saying he's going to pay me back. We had a recent breakup of friendship because he is a compulsive liar and I caught him in huge lies. So that was last week and he called back to say he was gonna pay me back this week, but he often ignores my phone calls and never calls when he says hes going to. Well I called yesterday and he actually answered but said he couldnt do it then and he would call me tmw after he got off work. Well that day is today and I called and no answer so I left a nice message saying I really needed the money so please call asap. I No call back. So I called again leaving another msg saying I dont wanna have to keep calling but I will if I have to. Still doesnt answer. Obviously he's ignoring me. Well I dont wanna let this go but theres no documentation and I need the $. Should I keep calling once in awhile or what other approach should I take? Please help.

He's not a friend anymore.
Hire some thugs to persuade him or else
he knows what's coming to him.
Money coming into play usually turns brings out the worst
in people when trying to get it back.

I guess it depends on how much money he owes you. Unfortunately, you may have to accept the notion that he may not pay you back. Ever. This may require you to drop all contact with him whatsoever.
I know you want your money back, but is it worth subjecting yourself to the aggravation?
Dropping contact with him completely might freak him out enough to get you what you want. In fact, try that. Don't call him. Don't return his calls. Not until he tells you he has your money.
If you really want the money back (especially if it's a sizeable amount), you may have to take him to small claims court or apply to get on a court show like Judge Judy.
Hopefully the positive result that comes out of this (if you don't end up getting your money), may be the lesson that it's not a good idea to lend money to friends.
Money definitely can cause problems in many friendships. You may also want to question the friendships with people who ask you for money.
Best of luck!

It sounds like you're not going to get your money back unless you do this:
Type up an IOU and have him sign it. BE SURE TO DATE IT AND HAVE A DEADLINE FOR WHEN IT'S DUE. I'm sure that somehow, someway you can get him to sign it. You could tell him that you're getting a loan and the bank wants to see your net worth statement and you need to show them the note payable. Don't make a big deal about it.
Then when he doesn't pay you, take his a*s to small claims court with note payable in hand. Then he'll have a court mandated order to pay you back.
Or you could just call his mother, she might pay you back.
***You don't need documentation to go to court*** so long as he doesn't lie to the judge

Verbal contracts are, technically, enforceable. However, it's a difficult thing to accomplish.
You may very well be able to take him to small claims court. Problem is, even if you win, you've still got to collect the money yourself (the court doesn't collect the money for you.)
In the end, I hope you've learned your lesson. Never loan money you can't afford to comfortably kiss goodbye -- ESPECIALLY to a friend.

Take him to small claims court. You may need to have some proof that he borrowed money from you. You do not need a lawyer if you file in small claims.

omg thats loopy. tell her how a lot difficulty she will manage to get in. even once you are able to make the longest record ever. clarify to her each and each of the undesirable issues which could take position. her boyfriend could be HAPPIER understanding she didnt sleep with another guy to get him a modern-day. i wager you he wouldnt even like it if he knew that! she will manage to freakin throw a lemonade stand. or a vehicle wash. dozing with someone isnt worth it. and if all that doesnt artwork. i understand that is hostile to lady code.... yet threaten her that your gonna tell her father and mom. that is truly risky. you dont understand what this guy can do. he could also be lieing! he could kidnapp her and homicide her. please conscious her of all this and be threat-free. take care. :)

i have learned not to let friends borrow money. but in your case i would let him know how good of a friend you were to let him borrow the money and that now you need money so he should return the favor by giving it back or atleast some of it. if he wont then kick his *** or steal something from him.

More than likely you wont get your money back, so just write it off. Maybe it was worth not having to deal with this guy anymore.

Write the Judge Judy show. I love that woman, she's so blunt! She'd set your scumbag friend straight.
