that speed is ok it is a bit slower then broadban or a low level dsl. there are speeds over 3mbps. there are 1024 kb in a mb if that tells you anything. dial up runs at about 40-80 kbps so be greatful you have that. have fun. i would suggest that you upgrade to dsl

Its not that good to be honest although you got about 10 times faster than dial up. I have an 8 meg download but I usually only see about 3 to 4 meg which is about 6 to 8 times faster than yours.

Your speed would be ok for online gaming though as I used to have a half a meg service (500kbps) and it was ok. Your upload speed is not bad at 245.

at around 500 kbp/s you can download an entire DVD disc image in about 3-5 hours. Assuming of course that your speed is just about constant. This speed is perfectly fine for almost any use aside for heavy uploading (posting to FTP servers, etc.).

Thats pretty slow... practically crawling. Efficient and will work if you're just loading basic webpages and chatting online, not recommended for streaming videos or downloading or anything that requires higher internet speeds.

It's fast enough for most things.

Unless you're download big files, it'll be fine.
