Why is our government so afraid to call it what it is instead of fearing to offend moderate Muslims. Moderate Muslims should be offended by what the Islamists have done to their religion. The Islamists have stated a million times that they want to spread Islam around the world and install Sharia Law.

Nighthawk, thanks for the response, you sound like you know what you are talking about. Actually, I am very well informed and I don't believe at all that I put my foot in my mouth. By your own words you state that extremist clerics are preaching viloence to their followers. We are basically saying the exact same thing. Its a war on Islamic extremists. I know most Muslims are peaceful people, but face it the extremists are winning the propaganda war and spreading their perverted form of Islam. Iraq is a recruiting tool for the Islamists whether we stay or go, it's a bad situation there.

Ha. Good question. I just asked a question that's very similar.
And it's so much easier to use the totally vague word "terror" because then you can justify attacking and killing just about anyone and anything - and have the freedom to frequently change your mind about who the actual enemies are.

What makes you think that the moderate Muslims are not outraged by the violence that the extremist clerics are preaching to their followers ?
These clerics in the Middle East are preaching their own perverted version of Islamic law, which is contrary to the peaceful coexistence that real Islamic religion focuses on.
So, the term "War On Terror" is correct, all of the Islamic faith are not death merchants.
I apologize for the last paragraph on my original answer, bad assumption on my part, which I've removed. What I tried to point out is that these extremist Clerics are what Satanists are to Christianity, both use passages from the Bible, but that doesn't make Satanists Christians. I, and others that are involved in this war, don't associate these murderers as Clerics of the Islamic faith, but as power hungry murderers trying to establish a state of terror in the Middle East, then throughout the world and establish themselves as Rulers of their own conquests and form their own religion based loosely on selected passages of the Koran.

Does it make any difference?
Untill and unless Bush is doing his job well by killing muslims especialy the unarmed Iraqis and Afghanis.......you should not question it.......he is doing his job well so it does not make any difference whether you call it war on terror or war on islamic extremism....and he is not afraid of offending muslims......muslims are even more offended by those innocents death he is responsible of in those parts......but did he stop it? ofcourse not.....so don't worry about your president...he is not at all caring about muslims whether moderate or extremist...he is doing just according to your wishes! Btw he is also showing the supreme example of "christain extremism"......but never Mind !
Those extemist might have stated this but did you ever get a threat of converting to islam? or anyone in your country from any muslim extremist part ever? Ofcourse Not ! did 7/7 suicidal bomber ever demanded to convert the London into muslim nation? No !! Those extremist are ignorant and even muslim community hate them. !they are not out to spread islam, but only to give a bad name to islam.they are ignorant who are just like a metastased cancer for muslim community !

He did start using the "islamo-fascists" term, but the CAIR people who support radical islam, and the saudis got angry and asked him to tone it down.
Ganda- I hope this enlightens your bigoted sentiments.
"It is a certain fact that not all Muslims are terrorists, but it is equally certain, and exceptionally painful, that almost all terrorists are Muslims.... "The hostage-takers of the children in Beslan were Muslims. The hostage-takers and murderers of the Nepalese chefs and workers in Iraq were also Muslims. . . . The majority of those who manned the suicide bombings against buses, vehicles, schools, houses, and buildings all over the world were Muslim. . . . Does all this tell us anything about ourselves, our societies, and our culture?. . ." - Abdel Rahman al-Rashed, the manager of the Al-Arabiya news channel.
