Ok i was looking over some NBA Draft years, and it seems my favorite player was in this(Gilbert Arenas) i didnt just like him either hes been my favorite player since the first year he was on the wizards plus he is on my Fav team....Wizards.....Gilbert went # 31 in the draft, but i was counting how many players are in the NBA or are big name players and i counted 30 players that were not in the NBA or are not big name players. So if you knew this a long time ago and you were GM of the washington wizards(#1 pick..wasted on that BUMMM Kwame Brown) well atleast he made the NBA so hes not really a bum but he sucks. So my question is would you have picked Gilbert Arenas, Pau Gasol, Jason Richardson, Eddy Curry, Joe Johnson, Richard Jefferson, or Zach Randolph first pick?

I would have still picked Gilbert

If you could go back, it would be simple to pick Arenas #1. But he was a SG in college and teams didn't know how he would turn out as a PG. Plus back in 2001 the Wizards needed a big man more than a PG.

well if GMs knew how all these guys would turn out. i think arenas would be the #1 pick. im a warriors fan and i was ecstatic that we got a steal in the 2nd round with gil. too bad he left for the money, cant blame him though.
i also think because gasol is a quick big 7 fter he might be the #1 pick, but id still say its gil.

won't be able to be too inspired with that draft class because of the fact it basically produced one celebrity (Arenas). A draft ought to do lots worse than 3 finished busts in the lottery (Griffin, White, Kedrick Brown). something of the lottery adult males are all-stars, have produced, or are significant gamers on their group. Chandler, Gasol, Curry, Richardson, Battier(group u . s . a . invite), Johnson, Jefferson, Randolph, Wallace, Parker, Arenas, and Okur are action picture star gamers. adult males like Simmons, Tinsley, Dalembert, Murphy, and Kwame have performed sufficient to earn super contracts. that's not good draft class, yet a superb style of those have become quite good, in basic terms not inevitably for the group that drafted them.

This depends on what my team needs. If I need a big man I would have drafted Gasol or Randolph. If I needed a gaurd or Foward I would have taken Jason Richardson.

Gil is definatly the best player to come out of that draft. but remember the word teamates. with a good supporting act any of these players listed could've or still can be great

Gasol, strictly because of his height. You can't teach tall. Arenas, Richardson are a wash in my opinion. I give Arenas credit, but I also recognize he plays in the east......
