I had a soccer game last sunday and was kicked numerous times in the shin (right through the shin guard) and it left a bruise the size of a softball. It swelled up quite a bit so I iced it and took some Ibuprofen to get it down. It has gone down quite a bit over the past week and some of the color has faded but I really would like it to fade a lot more because I'm going to Florida on Tuesday and would like to wear shorts without people asking me what happened and ewww.

Put warm compresses on it 3-4 times a day for 10-15 minutes or so. That will help break up the old blood under the skin, and will improve the circulation so it will be absorbed and excreted a bit more quickly. You can very , very gently massage the area to help break up the old blood too, but don't be so rough that you cause more bruising. Be sure you're taking in enough Vit C and protein for optimal healing and cell health.

Get some of that Dove or other skin tanner and start using it to moisturize and give your legs a bit of a tan so the bruise will be less noticeable. :) Have a great time, and don't forget to use sunscreen. :)

unpasteurized apple cider vinegar can help shrink the bruise. wrap an apple cider vinegar dampened cloth around the shin, morning and night, elevate the leg, leaving it on for about 15 minutes. remove, leg still up, start at ankle to gently press over shin to move the blood back into circulation.
to enhance healing, take 1-2 tablespoon in glass of water in am and pm..
good luck..
