PDA phones have the ability to connect to the internet, and they are MEANT to access e-mail. Because of this, you need to have a data plan (unlimited connect) plan on your phone unless you want the phone bill to skyrocket from usage charges.

The PDA Unlimited plan just allows you to go on the internet and have a nice email client you can use. If you are thinking about getting it, it is NOT necessary you choose that plan. Choose the Unlimited MediaNet plan for $20 and use the built in email client to retreive/send mail. It is exactly the same except you don't have the email client. Who needs to pay $20 extra each month when all PDA's come with its own software built-in??!

Once Cingular knows you have a so-called PDA device, they will upsell you to this plan ($40/month)....a big waste of money. I have provided a link below which are confessions of a Cinguar employee and the last confession pertains to the data plan. Enjoy!
