Basic coverage does not provide as much coverage as a comprehensive health insurance policy. You may want to try a website that compares multiple companies at once to get you the best price. I am paying less than ½ after I did.

It's the bottom of the line coverage as outlined in the booklet you received when you bought the plan, or the prospectus that you are looking at. Extended coverage, including semi private hospital rooms, eye care, elective surgery, ambulance transportation and some specialists is an additional fee.

Each is different. Call the 800 number for your provider.
Basically, it means things like checkups once a year or every two is covered, doctor visits are covered. Meds may not be. Procedures may not be, or to only some extent. It may not pay for hospitalization, or ambulance etc. It may pay for xrays.
Usually it covers basic maintenance, like checkups.

every plan is different...call the customer service dept for your plan and ask them what your coverage is or ask them to send you a coverage explanation...
