Yes, I 've made stuff before monkey, blanket, clothes.

I'm having trouble understanding these directions. Ok the typical directions of a rag quilt. White paper dierctions normal fabric color cut so many 1,3,4,5 . But the brown patten it's self another section of directions? Example, it has the paw,7, tells me to cut 8 out and 4 batting.

I should do both set of directions?
This is the first time I've seen double directions on a pattern.

the brown paper pattern for the paw is right-you need 8 (four paws, and each paw needs a front & a back) and then you need 1 piece of batting for each paw.

the white paper gives general info, the brown pattern paper gives reminders and extra help. read the directions one sentence at a time, and figure that sentence out before you proceed.

hope this helps, and most of all, enjoy your creativity!

No you are not silly for asking. The maker of the product should feel silly for not making it clear. I don't know the answer either, but my advice is to put it aside and work on something else until you can ask someone else familiar with the brown. I have seen directions that were written so badly I had no idea what they were talking about.

I've never made that pattern, and I'm not sure what you are saying, but go further into the instructions to see how it is made, and maybe the cutting instructions will make more sense. If they show you how it is sewed, you may understand why you need all those pieces.

As with any project, measure twice and cut once. Understand what you are doing BEFORE you cut the material.

Good luck!

Then cut 8 of your print fabric of that piece and then use that transfer to cut out 4 batting pieces. I think this is what your asking if you need anymore help let me know
