With the electorial college doing the deciding, do you really actually think your vote will count? If the presidential election was decided by the popular vote, then Gore would have got it instead of Bush the first time. So, this leads to me NOT to research anything, and NOT to waste my time voting. Sorry for the rant. Have a good day.

First, you must find an information source that you can trust, at least most of the time. That won't be easy.
Then, listen closely to the candidates, to learn their stand on the issues. Cross them off the list if:
They are ambibuous
They are trying to BS you
You disagree with their stance on the issues that are important to you

I look into their stand on the issues I find important to me. I went to a few websites the last few days and was really dissapointed at the lack of information - particularly on Hillary site. It was easier to find some issues with McCain that I did not agree with.
