Work as retail store manager in Portland Metro area. Been a manager for a year now and honestly one of the better ones in the area for our store. I have produced two assistants that now make more than me at the bigger stores in the area. I don't think this is fair at all, but how do I bring up this to my District manager and win?

you just ask the manager , but it probably won't do any good ,for some reason they like to pay newer people more and just stiff the veterans

You trained assistant managers or assistants? They are now reporting to someone else who feels it right to give them what they are making. Whomever you are reporting to apparently feels it's appropriate to make what you make.

I am sure the larger store has a lot to do with it, more customers, more products, etc. When you ask your DM for a raise, don't bring up that you know how much they make, that is tacky. But you should inquire if you move to a larger store if that means you get a larger raise.

They have more responsibility and "bigger" jobs than you
do ------ transfer to a bigger store and maybe seniority will
let you get ahead of those Jones boys.
