the first time i came across this was many years ago. i took some lessons regarding the paranormal - ESP. anyway, it's not presented as easy as thesecret. it is more technical. then i read some other metaphysics book including that of silva mind. actually the steps are pretty similar. with silva mind it is want (ask - thesecret), desire (believe), expect (recieve), forget.
the first time i did this was in getting my first walkman. i was in grade 3 and i didnt have any money. i always wanted a walkman. i cut out pictures from magazines, posted them where i can see them all the time. then i would meditate drawing the walkman in detail in my mind. after about a couple of weeks, my dad took me to hongkong, where he had a business. he bought a walkman for the engineer working in his company for chinese new year. but later that day, he came to the hotel and told me that the engineer was not in the company party. so he gave me the walkman. coincidence? well, a lot of coincidences have happened in my life. i am still not rich and all that. but i am happy and life is convenient!
whenever i want something and obsess about it. things just happen and i just know what to do. most of the time, i sleep on it. because it usually just come to me. instead of me looking for it, i let it come to me. if i did not want the answer it is presenting me, i keep on obsessing, and not long it will present an alternative. i always think that i am the luckiest person in the world to always get whatever i want in life.
but i do sometimes ask the wrong things, they still happen, no matter how impossible they may seem. and there are consequences - like you cannot do anything right even though you got all of the resources at your disposal, you still cannot achieve anything, esp if you ask something bad.

Everything in The Secret was already known back in the 30's and 40's. Check out edgarcayce.com. You will be amazed at what he said that has been proven true, is proving true and will be proven true. A good start with him is "There is a River". I heard about him in the 60's. He has given me so much insight in everything. Check it out. You will not be disappointed. You will be amazed. In that show James Carpenter did on PBS, one of the names in the tomb is "Josie". No, it wasn't a brother. Josie was a friend and an aid to the family. Cayce mentioned her way back in the 30's as a family member, maid and close friend of the family. This guy was amazing. He makes sense of so much. Just check it out. He has helped me understand so much and develop a faith that even carried me through the death of my son.
