I think that President Bush is an attorney, a businessman and a politician. Being such, he looks for ways to "legally" get what he wants, he looks for ways to maximize his resources and looks for ways to accomplish what all politicians need to do, stroke big business; they're the ones who hired him, they're the ones who will fire him. Don't get me wrong, I voted for President Bush as he was the lesser of two evils, and I still believe that. All politicians are at the beck and call of business or they would never get past running for dog catcher.

Don't put down the man, put down us for allowing politics to get so crooked. We kowtow to WalMart and then ***** about jobs going overseas. We buy gas guzzling cars and then ***** because the US is in the Middle East trying to keep the oil flowing. We follow like sheep to the polls and vote for Black cause we're Black, Women cause we're women, Reps cause we are in business or need our tax shelter or Dems cause we are poor and think that the government handouts will stop if we don't. Very few people vote with common sense anymore and most people believe the media instead of actually looking at the candidates voting record (which is easily found on the web). Don't blame Bush, or any politician for being a part of the machine, blame yourself for allowing it to happen.

I think that the President is a good and sincere person who believes rabidly in his own personal convictions. He is not one who sways with the political wind-something that many past and present politicians are constantly criticized for. He believes in certain principals that are at odds with many of a different political persuasion. He feels he must protect this country from another foreign intrusion and that this is his most important duty. Even if he made a complete 180 in his course of actions now, if we were attacked again, he would still be held responsible for failing to protect the American public. So I suppose he figures, if I'm going to be held to the wall on this, I might as well do it my way.

I believe George W. Bush is a genuine person who thinks with his mind just like anyone else does. He may be envious of something or someone this would be impossible to judge.

Yes I really do.
For what our country has been through in the last 8 years we are doing pretty dam good.
Look at the stock market
Look at unemployment
and I always here about the deficit but have come to believe that both party's use it to incite people on issues they are trying to push, meaning it's all just a paper monster that is reshaped by each party in office. It will always be here and it can never go away unless we just shut the Gov. down and all programs produced by it.
If you really want to make this country solid stop using credit, credit cards and save to pay in cash, No one in the world could touch our economy then

George Bush is definitely a genuine intellectual... he is an orator par excellence... with no parallel in the world who can beat him in oration... his sincerity to his country and to democracy is beyond doubts...

currently it has become a fashion to criticise him... people do not remember that he has cleared all the contests for becoming the head of state in USA...

if you really are against terrorism then do not criticise him...

By behaving as he did in Iraq, and by executing Saddam Hussain, he has proved that not even America is safe in his hands. This man has brought immense harm to the people of the great country that America is, so much so, that it will take decades before America can come back to it's previous glory.

I have the same place for him, as I will have for Osama or Saddam.

I think he is a genuine person. I don't believe that he's just trying to portray his father. I do, however, believe he is a very immoral person that tries (and pretty successfully) to persuade the American public that being a neo-con is the same thing as being patriotic.

Why is it, that in the United States, socialism and liberalism are bad words? I thought democracies were actually supposed to have choice on the ballot... man was I wrong.

Yes. The only person that he probably envies at this point in life is the guy who can walk safely down the street incognito.

I think he's genuine, but sometimes I question whether he knows his own mind. I think he mostly lets himself by guided by others, especially in foreign policy. I can imagine he thought, "That Paul Wolfowitz and Doug Feith are real smart guys" because they are intellectuals - and look where that got him/us.

Maybe he should govern more by his own heart, and stop listening to other peoples' heads!!

That is what is great about G.W. He is what he is, and makes no apologies for it. He has a strong belief in himself and a higher power. It helps him to be genuine, even when people are constantly criticizing him for doing the best he can.
