My sister made a tote bag at her girl scouts meeting... we just bought blank tote bags at a craft store for like $3 each and then sewed on designs and used fabric paint and fabric glitter to decorate them.

Go to Linens N Things or a store that sells a material that you want, and get a a sewing kit.
Also get some rope.
Make a square-like bag using the material and sewing machine/kit.
Make holes big enough for the rope to go around. But dont get ugly rope or something, they have pretty rope.
I said rope because other things can break easily; rope is pretty tough.
Then you can sew on your daughters name or princess or diva [whatever]
If you do it right, go onto Hollister.com. They have a bag that looks like the one im showing you! Follow that for image help.
You'll have a fake hollister bag! Maybe your daughter can stitch on hollister and everyone would surely believe!

they have cute ones at Forever21, yet im not sure how long they postpone because of the fact ive never had one till now. and so they have some particularly stable ones at abercrombie and hollister, yet i dont particularly like the designs that plenty. and in case you like stuff like hi Kitty and checkered stuff, try warm subject remember. i've got been given this particularly cute hi kitty bag there. stable success! :]
