What is simple way you'd know if you have scoliosis (without taking an x-ray or going to the doctor)? What are the symptoms of scoliosis? How much can u grow if you have scoliosis?

Scoliosis is curvature of the spine(like a question mark-I think that's what the character "Forest Gump" had as a boy). I am pretty sure the ONLY way to get diagnosed is to go to the doctor.

If you have scoliosis, one shoulder or hip might be higher than the other. If you bend over, someone else could tell you if your spine curved to the side.
Usually though, if you can tell that easily, the curvature is severe.
Scoliosis doesn't affect your growth. However, a lot of the height you would be gaining goes toward the curve in your spine.
If diagnosed and the curvature is severe enough, you'll wear a brace until you stop growing. The curve will always be there, but the brace keeps it from getting worse.

Here is an actually home test for scoliosis.
I learned this in a college yoga class. My yoga teacher was also a nurse.
Lay on your stomach on a hard flat ground. You'll need someone with you. Now try and lay as straight as possible with your head and toes in line, without looking, keep your face pointed down at the ground or to side. May need to put a towel under forehead. Tell the person when you feel you are laying straight. They can tell you if you actually are. People with scoliosis will feel as if they are laying straight when their body is actually curved to one side.
If you fail the test, see a doctor.

well, scoliosis is an abnormal curvature of the spine. usualy an s-shape sideways when looking at your back. Symptoms of scoliosis may include sever backpain, unable to sit or stand strait. a good place for more specific information would be Webmd.com. really good for finding out symptoms and other specifics.

at my school they do scoliosis screening...basically the guy gym teacher (we have 2, a girl and a guy) tells the guys to take off their shirts in the locker room and they bend over and i guess they can tell if the backbone's crooked...
(my girl gym teacher isn't a perv. the girls all wear bras)

Adam's test. Bend forward and if one side of rib is higher than the other, it's positive. Other indications are higher shoulder on one side, higher hip, or hip rotation.

Have a nurse look at your back-for me they felt it and knew. If it's really severe, you can see it in a person's posture.
