I love to shop for clothing, $10.00 per week isn't enough for the expensive designers I like.
A lot of kids at my school get $20.00 per week. It isn't fair! (My parents have enough money to give me $20.00 each week.)

First of all how old are you? I am 14, and my allowence is 14$ every other week. So be happy with what you have. If you want that much money, then get a job. If you don't feel like working, offer to do some chores around the house.

Jobs

There are many ways you can earn money. I babysit and I get paid very well. But I think you have to be 13-14 to start.

My Rates

1-2 kids ~ $5.00/hour
Each additional child ~ $1.25/hour

*When you are babysitting a baby under 10 months old, you should ask to be paid a bit more than your regular charge, since you must give more attention, change the baby, feed the baby, and put the baby to bed.

Another Idea is to have a bake sale/ lemonade stand. Me and my sisters baked all week, made poster signs and decided how much we should charge for each baking good. Any age is perfect for this job!

Another good job is to start a walking dogs for neighbours that have dogs. You can either put up posters around town, or hand out fliers to people you know that have dogs. I would charge 5 dollars per dog.

Another good job is to wash cars, or open a car wash business with friends for a few days, mow the lawn, shovel drive ways in the winter, and help people clean there house that might need help.

If are 14 years or older, you could also work at fast food restaurants, or grocery stores too.

When my kids were in high school they also liked expensive designers. I agreed to pay what I was willing to on say a pair of Lee's jeans and they would work and earn the difference if that is what they wanted to buy. I was always willing to pay for a extra chore or a job around the house. (Not the expected chores) My kids did babysitting in the neighborhood and also saved there birthday money. Of course you could always sit down with your parents and talk with them about your allowance. "It isn't fair" and "they have enough money" is not good reasons. Give it some thought and figure out what would make a good conversation for you to make to ask for more money for your allowance.

so how old are you? if you are old enough, get a part time job and earn more money.....

if not, do as someone else suggested....figure out how to help out more at home...clean up the house; do laundry, do the dishes, take out the trash, clean the bathrooms, change the beds, even cook a meal or two....I am sure your folks will be more than happy to pay you more if you take some of the workload off of them...

if you're not willing to do that, then just quit whining...and live with it....you will always be able find someone who has a 'better life' than yours....
