not only have the wife an i seen them, we have stop an took the in,,,, after talking to most, it that bad luck fell on them, an most just need a hand up,,,,,th god , he gave me the heart to help them,,, so for we took , quit a few in, an they now up on their feet,,,, i nor rich, an dont have much, but i will share what little we do have,,,

I think it's more of a diplomatic thing. When you help the poor in another country, they are less likely to urge war against you. Supposedly anyway.
Anyway, when I see a homeless family the first thing I think is "Even after I help them, they are still going to die a cold, agonizing death and there is nothing I can do about it." Curses...

It says a lot about a soceity by looking at the truly poor and how eldery are treated. It really chaps my a s s that we send so much aid all over the world and are blind inside our own borders.
