During the summer choose a beach in Mission Bay so you can also see the nightly fireworks display at Sea World. For more on beach bonfires in San Diego go to:

Mission Bay has tons of firepits (over 70) spread out around the water and was a good place to see the summer fireworks at SeaWorld in the past, unfortunately it looks like the fireworks shows will probably be cancelled this year. But still a good place to go, for more information check out http://www.nearhere.com/dates/date_info.cfm?lid=1427

mission beach has lots of fire pits dotting the shore, but you'll have some company on either side of you. If you go to the jetty (south mission beach) there are only two pits right next to each other. Just don't bring those flats that they use at hardware stores to put in your fire, the beach police will fine you

i could flow to la Jolla. they have truly some bonfire pits and individuals there are truly cool. also, in case you flow on the weekend, ensure you get there rather early to order a pit. it truly is first come, first served, so that you'll favor to spend the completed day on the sea coast. yet its so marvelous out as we talk, even as i flow to the sea coast, time flies!
