I have had enough. I can sit here for days describing how many lies are reported by the news. Time and time again you will hear reporters give information about areas they or their sources have absolutely no knowledge of. I, firmly, believe something needs to be done about this.
I have never heard the news report about how awful they can be, only about how awful everyone else is. They make claims that they are informing the public because we have the right to here the truth. Where is the truth in false claims? Where is the truth in only one side of the story? Where is the truth when one news station says one thing and one station says the opposite? Where is the truth in scaring people and making money off of misery?
The news does not always report horrible things and I’m positive not all the people of the media are bad. However I can no longer decide if they do this for the good of people or try to do some decent things to waiver the ideas of how people view them. If this is the case, good only being done for attraction, then propaganda is a factor here.
I have nothing to gain by what I’m about to ask of you except a better, more honest world for the human race and our children. I am asking you to search and if you are as disturbed
As I, take action. I am proposing a major black out of the news at home, work, school, etc. Every month, on the 7th, until the media in your area (if is misleading) has announced a public apology, proposing a solution to do more for their communities regarding peace and honesty. Do not watch, listen or read the news on the 7th of every month. Change the stations, don’t use the internet, and cancel papers.

How about this tack?
I removed TV from my home and except for DVDs and videos, we don't watch TV at all.
It's incredibly freeing!
I've recently read that some spiritual leaders are encouraging their congregants to have a "News Fast"
(refrain from watching/reading the news) once or twice a week.
Imagine what the USA would be like if more people started doing this and by extension, thinking for themselves. Then there's the whole consumerism thing...the lack of TV would eliminate a lot of false 'wants' and excessive spending, too.
It could be radical!
The changes it's made in our family are radical, as well.
Good luck.

Yep, our media is a pile of garbage. Media is the way that the masses are controlled. If you trust them to give you the news and information, you have given them the right and the ability to shape your perspective of life in anyway they wish.

Also, what has happened to innocent until proven guilty? The news confirms a person as guilty before they even go to trial these days. For example, the D.C. Snipers had a movie made about them killing people before they were even convicted. Can you judge evidence fairly after seeing a movie that alleges to be the "true story" showing you how, when, and what they did? It could be all lies, but if you trust media, they are guilty. It's a shame what the media is doing to the late Anna Nicole Smith and to Britney Spears.

The problem is really with us to be truthful. We are the ones who have grown lazy. We don't investigate the facts anymore. We take their word as the precious truth from the mouth of god. We are to blame. We would rather be entertained then learn things that shake the very foundation of morality and send chills up the spine. We'd rather live in a mythical existence, thinking we are led by people with good moral standings. We enter the "no spin zone" expecting no spin. Have we really grown this foolish? More.

But we have Muslims for our scapegoats now and the war on terror to keep our minds off the the real enemies of our country and the media is one of their biggest allies.

Do what I'm doing, refuse to watch / read the news and go into journalism so you can change things.
