How do you wipe everything clean so it is like when you bought it.

If you have purchased this computer towards the end of year 2005 you will have an option known as PC restore by symantec. which can be accessed by pressing on two buttons while the computer starts up and you see the dell logo,, just press and hold ctrl button and tap the F11 key multiple times it will take you to this page on which you have to click on "restore" and then confirm to data loss...
lo behold your computer will be reset back to day 1 the way you received it....
But before doing this step just make sure that you have backed up your information and also disconnect all periperal devices like speaker and printer and internet cable,,, just leave the computer connected with the keyboard, mouse, monitor and power supply,,
