What happened to going to see a film for the entertainment value? Is no one capable of that anymore? Why do groups feel the need to get their knickers in a twist simply because a historical event was not portrayed to their liking?

Its cause people are stupid. Everyone gets too offended these days and don't understand that thing happen in history, both good and bad, and that it has nothing to do with present day descendents of those cultures.

However historical events are had to determine which culture was the 'good guys' and which where the 'bad guys'. When you are trying to tell a story you need a protagonist and antagonist to make it entertaining for people. Its hard to keep plots objective when you are making something to entertain people and give people a feeling at the end of some sort of 'hero' or whatever you are trying to accomplish.

Movie makers make so much movies against the christian religion but it's okay. It's only entertainment. But if they make a movie that is slightly against about a certain religion, it's anti-_______________. It's so unfair sometimes.
Let's face it, some culture or race or religion makes a big deal of something unimportant. Example, Zoolander was banned in Malaysia because there is a scene there about the Prime Minister of Malaysia being a target of assassination, they didn't put into account that the PM is a good guy who is against child labor.
Passion of Christ - Christ was tortured by the Jews, but the Jewish communities didn't take kindly to it.
Da Vinci Code - totally against the Christian doctrine, answer to Passion of Christ? Who knows.
Apocalypto - let's face it, during the olden days, people are brutal.
Black Hawk Down - in reality, soldiers from different countries including from Malaysia was there but the movie only concentrate on the american soldiers, without the help of the other soldiers from the different countries, they would have died. Again, entertainment value, who wants to see soldiers from other country helping the good guys?
The Queen - only Queen Elizabeth and her family are the ones who knows what they felt when Diana Died.
Last King of Scotland - a very realistic potrayal but who really knows what's in the head of idi Amin?
Borat - they potrayed Kazaktan so negatively.

But everything is in the name of entertainment and big returns for the producer. It's actually annoying to be politically correct all the time.

Simple. We live in an overly politically correct society. It stems from years & years of people being sued or whatever for doing and saying things that a certain group doesn't agree with.

That's a huge problem...you take a group of people that think one way and just because they don't agree with something, they think people should do it their way instead of just leaving it be. For instance, the subject you bring up...if a group doesn't agree with a movie they protest it and demand it not be made or shown. Instead they should shut the hell up and not watch the movie.

i think it's silly that we're all so over-sensitive these days, but at the same time can i see why....the majority of the offended people are from minorities...in a way it's like the nerd in school bullied by the popular kids....for so long they're emotionally or physically beaten down that they become so sick of it that they automatically go on the defense...this is why it's also hard for them to form friendships later in life because it's like they almost expect people to want to beat them down and they attack before they're attacked themselves....i think it's the same way for a lot of people in minorities that throughout history have been persecuted.....myself for example...i'm gay and i admit it kinda rubs me the wrong way, even when I know they're just joking and sometimes i will even laugh myself, when homosexuality is used as an insult or a joke in a movie....i think it's because i'm afraid it will reinforce the thoughts of people who think being gay is wrong/sick/funny, etc.......i think it's the same for other minority groups....we just want to be like everyone else and we're scared that the people who dont want us to do so will continue working against that, and take these movies as a sign of support...dont get me wrong, I still think for the most part when people get offended and make a big deal about it in the media that it's oversensitivity, but I'm just giving you my thoughts on the thought process behind it.

initially you under no circumstances get the reality by using way of torture. they'll in actuality permit you comprehend what you commit to take heed to and then improve it to give up the torture. Torture is in actuality a "pay off" or "perk" for sado masochists indoors the army to get their rocks off. not in actuality now a days, yet for the time of the time of time. S & M is phenomenal a intercourse substitute on for many persons.
