A Top Contributor is an Answerer whose Q&A shows that they are knowledgeable in a specific category. You can become a top contributor in up to three categories. The better your contributions are in any respective category, the more likely you'll become a Top Contributor for that category.
We basically take an Answerer's overall contributions on Answers in each individual category, toss them into a hamster wheel, and the ones that manage to stay on the wheel become Top Contributers.

How many categories do you go to in Questions and answers? I stay on this one 95% of the time. Answer and ask only in one category also vote for "undecided votes" in the same category. Rack up the points in that category and you'll become one also.

Ok heres the instuctions. You have to answer into a certain catgory like polls and surveys alot and i mean alot it has to do with your points too.
