Just finished reading "The Victory of Reason" by Rodney Stark. It is very good if you are interested in the details of economic history from the Dark Ages through today, especially in Europe and especially from medieval times to about 1800.
Though the details are good, the book is extremely annoying in that the author repeatedly makes assertions that are neither documented nor justified within the book.
