Unbelievable!

No, it is a real name. And in translation, it means "the Base". It was started by bin Laden with the express purpose of driving all the infidels from the middle eastern lands and setting up one massive Islamic Caliphate from which the remaining folks in the world will either be converted, or killed.

And, for the record, liberal attempts at minimizing the reality of this terrorist organization are not going to make it go away!

No, it's a real terrorist group who use it to describe themselves. Your use of the word "fighters" sounds like you agree with their tactics and ideas. How that could even be possible confounds me! I do wish, though, that the spell check would have the word "Quaeda" in it so I could spell it.

Nope, that's the name that Bin Ladens people gave themselves. The name has nothing to do with the US. If I'm not mistaken, it means "the base".

Not quite. "Al-Qaeda" is a compound name that translates roughly to "the base." It was founded, as such, in 1988.

Yea, Al Qaeda is a name Bush made up.

There is no threat, 911 didn't happen and France is the only friend we have.

Let us just forget about it.

It is a terrorist group, but, Americans do not appreciate the real tensions between different nations, and movements, in the mid-east, so, we tend to lump them all together.

I dont know, could be. What difference does it make. All those sand monkeys need to be lumped together so we can save ammo.

No.

Al-Qaida is a group of terrorists. Not all terrorists are Al-Qaida.

Terrorists in Iraq are referred to as "Ali Babba", "Wahabbi", "Mujahadin", or "Militia".
